Around 600 people have registered to our webinar: "Vaccination and tourism recovery: will they go hand in hand?"

Following the pandemic, we sensed the need for a “Webinar World Tour” to address many concerns which have arisen in our sector. The response has been exceptional: around 600 people have welcomed this topic with open arms. For the last month we have been “travelling” via the internet around Spain and the Caribbean. Additionally, we have visited Morocco, stopped off in Egypt, visited the wonderful destination of Turkey and last week we ended our journey on the other side of the pond, in Chile.

95% of the quality surveys have indicated that our webinar has been of great value to the tourism sector. Participants have ranged from members of large international hotel chains to tour operators, all wanting to share their uncertainties with our experts. In the surveys they requested a second webinar focusing on post-vaccination. They also expressed an interest in webinars regarding sustainability. The starting point for the webinars was: When will tourism kick-start again after vaccination? To arrive at the final answer, our experts have analysed, in detail, the de-escalation process and above all, what we need to abide by. Now, more than ever, we need to be optimistic as well as realistic, because the vaccine will not be our only defence.

The message is clear: in tourist destinations in 2021 we need to be committed more than ever to health & safety. Experts such as the European Travel Commission confirm this. Tourists, like never before are going to value destination’s preventative measures, protocols and training.

We will continue to visit even more destinations, updating topics of interest to the tourism sector and encouraging us all to work towards a more promising future. It’s already hopeful and therefore we need to prepare ourselves now.
