ABTA Conference related to our area of expertise: Health, Safety and Security, We tell you how it happened

The recent Health and Hygiene event, organised by ABTA under the title "Health, Safety and Security in Travel" took place on the 23rd and 24th March.

We were delighted that Preverisk’s International Commercial Manager, Ertugrul Aslan, took part, with a talk titled "striking a balance between COVID-19 protocols and other health, safety and protection procedures". Likewise, fire and security expert Terry Auld, set out his vision of “incident response and reporting” and also led the “Accommodation security management” workshop.

Fortunately, after several years of pandemic, all Health, Safety and Security companies have confirmed that they are working with tour operators and travel agencies to reactivate their businesses. They all agree that now is the time to take a holistic approach to the business, rather than focusing exclusively on COVID-19.

Accordingly, tour operators’ and travel agencies’ main requirement is that Health, Safety and Security companies carry out 100% of audits, whether in-person or remotely. Additionally that data is shared with them, in a common approach, not individually. Ultimately, it’s about making it easier for hoteliers, tour operators and agencies.

Preverisk conveyed to participants, that it is already taking this holistic approach. In fact, it has already merged its COVID-19 protocols with all other Health, Safety and Security protocols, to ensure that all accommodation areas meet the minimum requirements.

 All participating companies said that they were happy to have held this type of event and make contact with colleagues. We hope that this is the start of better times for the tourism industry! We are ready!
